Qualification - Level 2 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce

This course will enable you to achieve the nationally accepted Ofsted 'full and relevant' qualification to work as an assistant in a pre-school playgroup, nursery, children's centre or for those working as child-minders, teaching assistants and play workers up to the age of 19 or 21 if working with children with Additional Needs

You will either need to be working or volunteering for a minimum of 6 hours per week in a suitable setting within Devon.
This course is Free if on a means tested benefit approved by the  funders Or a fee of £450 if a volunteer and not on JSA this can be payable in monthly agreed instalments.

Qualification - Level 3 Diploma in Children's Learning and Development - Early years Educator
This is for people already working in the sector and in a supervisory position or who would wish to do so.

You will need a placement of 10 hours per week this can be a voluntary position.  This course includes a high proportion of self learning and session are monthly as agreed with 4 observations as a minimum and is for working with 0 - 8 year olds.   Entry requirements  are that the student must hold Maths and English qualifications at C or above. (These can be worked on alongside the course)

This course is due to start 14 September 2016 9.30am - 1.00pm at the Chestnut Children's Centre Exeter

Working with Vulnerable Adults - Level 4
This course is designed for such people as Youth Workers, Playworkers and those dealing with vulnerable adults ideally you will be in a placement of ten hours or more and will be able to do some one to one contact. an ideal course for those working with lone parents and those in such places as sheltered accommodation - this course is for those working with young adults, additional needs .
It will involve research and learners and assessor will meet as and when required.
£1300 - no fee remission




Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People - Level 5
This is the ideal course if you are a manager or wishing to be a registered manage of a childs centre, pre school or managing a registered care home. this course involves slef study, research and personal journal to be written alongside the course - the learner will meet with the assessor on an as and when basis

Business Admin - Level 2 & 3
For persons who are interested in working in an office based environment whilst gaining a nationally recognised certificate. You will need to have a voluntary placement of at least 6 hours per week in an admin role, and be able to attend regular sessions arranged with your tutor.

Food Hygiene - 1 day course
For anyone involved in the preparation of food, whether at home, in the food industry or within care institutions. There is a multiple choice exam at the end of the course. This course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.£50 per learner

Emergency First Aid at Work

Advice and Guidance Level 4
Advice and Guidance is intended for experienced practitioners who provide advice and guidance, mediation and careers education and guidance to young people and adults within organisations such as schools, colleges and universities, Connexions services or local Authorities. It is an expectation that all candidates should be working towards their Level 2 English and Maths, if not currently held in the last 2 years.  A placement will be needed for this course

Assessors Award
Level 3 award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment is intended for those who wish to gain knowledge of their principles and practices of assessment without any practice of assessors. Health and Social Care Level 2 Diploma (Adults) for England
This qualification is for anyone working or wishing to work in the Health and Social Care Sector.  You need to be in a work placement for 6 hours a week or more which can be paid or voluntary.  There are 9 mandatory units with additional optional units for either working with Adults, people with Additional Learning Needs or those with Dementia.
